Your ex-loved the way you kept your hair? Change it, chop it off, get highlights. Get a new piercing or a tattoo, do something you always wanted to in terms of looking different but perhaps did not since your partner was so against it. It will be one liberating experience to get a makeover and to change that appearance of yours that they thought made you look amazing.
Treat yourself to some ice cream as it helps to ease up that knot that you have formed in your heart. Perhaps watch a movie with it and cry. Shedding tears is like excreting all the wastes that your ex has generated in your mind out with every drop.
In a time of digital prints, delete all your photographs. If there are some pictures where you look great, crop yourself out because why not? The hard copy versions of the pictures are even better as you can ruin them by drawing devil horns and moustaches all over your ex’s face or even indulge in some voodoo ritual and burn the picture to feel that sense of burden lift up and go away in some proportions from your life.
It does not help even a tiny bit to move on while you can see their pictures and day to day updates on their life on social media while crying yourself out. It is just not worth the emotional turmoil every time you glance through any of it. Delete their number, unfollow and unfriend them from all of the social media, delete the pictures (no, you don’t get to keep even a single picture).
If you not into the habit, develop it now and if you already are then pick up a book which you know would make you emotional. Quite often you think of yourself to become numb after a breakup and so you can read to remind yourself that you aren’t as you lose yourself in between the pages.
Go on a vacation somewhere with your friends or even solo. Make a new fresh set of memories somewhere and soak in the place. Vacations are probably the most liberating things. People take them to take a break from their stressful life and so should you in times like these.
Get out of your cave and meet up with your best friends. They would be more than glad to see you and they really don’t mind to hear you pine over and again about that ex which they warned you about to not date. Sometimes it is okay to be reminded too of why you both broke up in the first place and so is ranting about why you are thankful to not be in the relationship anymore.
Did you know that cleaning is actually a very hygienic exercise which helps you de-stress? It does and you should go ahead and do it. Most of us do keep putting cleaning away for later and so now may be the time.
