Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.

Often we think that cartoons are things for babies, instead, nothing is farther than this from the truth. Cartoons are a separated and even sometimes complicated universe and, their fans are often passionate and combative towards each other.
One of the most important splittings, when we talk about Cartoons Universe, is the one between Marvel fans and DC fans: there is no way, each of them will tell that his preferred cartoon’s character is the best and the original one. But which are the differences between the two companies? And which are the similar things instead? Because, as we will see, there are a lot of things that the two companies seem to take from each other.
Let’s start with some historical details. Marvel starts to work, officially, in 1961 but the original idea is older: 1939. DC starts to publish in 1934 and its original name was National Allied Publications.
DC creates human characters as they can be in the best possible way; as superheroes. WE have for example Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman etc. Marvel, instead, wants to create mortal, normal people that, for different reasons, acquire superheroic capacities: The Fantastic Four is the best example that we can find to explain this, but also Spider-Man or Hulk are very good examples of these normal people that, suddenly, became something different or something more, if we prefer.
But, even if the two companies seem to start from two separated point of views, some comics are undeniably very similar.
For Example:
These ones are only the most famous examples but the list can continue: Iron Man vs Steel; Avengers vs Justice League of America; Vision vs Red Tornado and many others.
The truth is that each time one of the two companies created something new and was successful for the audience, the other created something very similar, avoiding, in this way, to lose too much ground. Another truth is that, in so many years of work, it is impossible to establish which one copied most the other. The last, maybe, truth is that both of them started to work on the paper and, in recent years had to adapt their characters on the movies because the audience asked for this. The passage on TV it wasn’t as easy as we can imagine. However on TV, Marvel starts for first with Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Capitan America; and, after a couple of years, DC started to produce movies as Superman Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman.
Talking about TV Universe, we can say that Marvel believed in this project more than DC, using very expert film directors as Raimi and Singer and very famous actors. Maybe, DC is less able to create on TV compelling and attractive plots.
Whatever it will be our preference, however, we have to recognize both of them the ability to create, with their fantasy, superheroes able to let us dream; to tie us in front of the TV or to let us run to the cinema and, above all, let us all back children, with the opportunity to divide the word simply in evil and good and where the good always win.
