Ben Affleck plays the role of Batman; Gal Godat, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher play the roles of Wonder Woman (Diana Prince), The Flash, The Aquaman and Cyborg respectively. It is directed by Zack Snyder. The IMDb has given it a rating of 7.4/10 and Rotten Tomatoes has given a rating of 37%. According to Google Users Ratings, 89% of the audience seems to like the movie.
The movie opens with Superman’s funeral in the most clichéd way possible and how his arch enemy, Batman and other superheroes take up the baton of fighting off the villain. Superman’s sacrifice makes Batman change for good as he teams up with Wonder Woman, The Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. They fight off the enemies as a team and aim at getting back Superman’s cold corpse.
One thing that most all critics agree on is the fact that it is a lighter version of the story with a straightforward storyline approach. The opening of the movie is a bit disoriented but as the story progresses the movie starts making sense. The shift from “Batman VS Superman” to Batman uniting the Justice League makes the movie more credulous and lighter as stated above.
The music in the movie is on point as the most of the audience it seemed to be swayed away by Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows” Being played at Superman’s Funeral.
One of the major issue most of the viewers had with the movie was the CGI aka Computer Generated imagery was extra in the movie. The reshoots of certain scenes seem to have killed the thrill of the movie as it became unalterable for the audience after a specific point.
Due to the cutting down on the time limit of the movie by the Warner Brother Productions, the movie was a mess as the characters and the storyline were not in sync with each other. With a lot of gaps left to be filled by the viewers, it reduced the chances of being one of a kind movie. Moreover, the fact that it was in the hands of two directors also leaves an impact on the final outcome.
According to the New York Time’s, the movie was “Justice League, the newest DC Comics superhero jam directed by Zack Snyder, is looser, goosier and certainly more watchable than the last one. The bar could scarcely have been lower given that the previous movie, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” was such an interminable slog. The superhero and villain dynamic is much the same (slayers going to slay, etc.), but there are a few fresh faces now and Wonder Woman has more to do than play backup. The story is a confusion of noise, visual clutter and murderous digital gnats, but every so often a glimmer of life flickers through.”
The movie so far has managed to collect $93,842,239 since its worldwide premiere on 17th November, a day after its release in Denmark. Even though the odds are against the movie, DC fans would still love the movie if they are going to a full-on entertainment heroic movie.
