1. India Today once published fake news about ‘woman uploading 12 million pictures on Facebook’ as a real breaking news. It is not humanly possible! Yet, India Today chose to believe it. It was fooled by its original source The Onion.
2. When India Today posted an article that “Fog hits IRCTC website, claims committee report” and went on to describe how Kohram Singh reportedly said that, “IRCTC servers are present in Delhi and it’s very foggy out there, which has resulted in the slow execution of codes on the server.”
3. The time when Times of India wanted to be really creative in the headlines of a sports news but messed up excessively by writing – “The name is Bond, James Rodriguez.” *facepalm!*
4. When TOI messed up again and replaced the name of Osama Bin Laden with Obama in a headline which said – “Obama was found with the youngest wife”. This was after Osama Bin Laden was killed. They later deleted the article altogether to spare themselves from the embarrassment.
5. Deccan Chronicles too did not think it through enough before they captioned an article about the Chinese entering into the tented posts as “China makes first-ever deepest penetration”
6. NDTV and ABP News in 2013 used a viral video on YouTube of a truck and bus, respectively, falling off a cliff in Bolivia to broadcast the news of the Uttarakhand flood. So much for not checking the reality of the situation!
7. Hindustan Times had turned Asaram into a saint, claiming that NCERT textbooks for class III students in Rajasthan mentioned the same. It had to later publish a Corrigendum to apologize for the incorrect information as the books were searched and nothing of this sort was found and also because the MHRD forced them to issue a corrigendum.
When she spoke up against it, the media house first told her that she should be flattered since it was a compliment but later called her out to be a hypocrite as she dances/poses for various reasons to show off her body.
They completely missed the point that a close-up shot of someone’s cleavage is not acceptable!
