Major cities and the areas around them can be classified as urban. The definition varies across nations, but generally, an area with a population of more than a certain number is classified as urban.
Urban areas are equipped with all the modern amenities like the Internet, telephone, television, and satellite communication. Facilities for shopping, entertainment and other forms of recreation are more concentrated in these areas. Large housing complexes and skyscrapers are found in most urban metropolitan cities. Elevators, escalators, levelled parking areas and towering constructions add to their magnificence.
People mostly engage in non-agricultural jobs, the career options are better and more in number. The living conditions are better. Urban living is economically more stable and luxurious. Due to people preferring this kind of living, urban areas are densely populated. Excessive industrialization has invited environmental problems. The rise in economic growth has led to self-sufficiency and people appear to be self-centred.
But between all these, our lives are getting bored because of this same monotonous life. We find no more excitement in our easy-go life. We easily get bored of things that we have and we soon seek for new things in life. There is no satisfaction whereas the needs are increasing day by day.
We don’t care for people and things that are going on in their life. Urban places are highly populated so we don’t care about knowing a lot of people. We don’t have anyone to share the whereabouts of our life. People are busy with their own lives and appear to be relatively indifferent towards one another. Life here is not peaceful as in rural areas.
People are busy with their jobs and business and do not have free time to enjoy with families. Most of them don’t even have any hobbies to spend their leisure time. So busy that they can’t even watch for their children and look for babysitters. It is very clear that urban areas are making the lives of people very boring.
There are of course advantages of living in a town or city, the lifestyle is very modern. But still, in the middle of the busy schedule, the essence of life is somehow getting lost.
