That tale about Azor Ahai, the great warrior, being reborn to save mankind spins on the fact that he shall return as the ‘prince that was promised’. It could be so that since now Jon Snow’s true lineage has been discovered as Aegon Targaryen, he has ‘returned’ as his true persona rather than the King of the North. The man survived daggers through his heart and everybody loves him, so why not?
While people are wondering who this male hero could be, there is an obvious sign that they have missed that the ‘he’ might as well be a ‘she’ as said by Melisandre, who better than our Mother of Dragons then? She indeed has ‘returned’ to claim a throne which belonged to her family, she has her dragons, army of Unsullied, the Dothraki and the survivors of the House Tyrell. She’s learnt how to rule, she’s struggled and also got people bending the knee to her. Even Cersei claims that if anyone is to defeat the Dead, it shall be her. She might be the one who appears victorious.

This is theory germinates from a few lines that were mentioned in the books. Given their history, they just might unite. We know how GRR Martin hints subtly, hints more obviously and then says it out loud and just maybe this could be one such instance. He had written about the introduction of Tyrion that, “When he opened the door, the light from within drew his shadow clear across the yard, and for just a moment Tyrion Lannister stood as tall as a king.” For Sansa, he wrote, “She was a Stark of Winterfell, a noble lady, and someday she would be a queen.”
There is also a possibility that Tyrion is secretly a Targaryen. This is because it was mentioned in the books that the Mad King Aerys lusted after his mother, which gives a new complex reason for Tywinn to hate him. He is now Hand of the Queen with ample experience, equipped to seize the throne.
Cersei doesn’t have to win her place, she needs to retain it. She is capable of destroying her rivals (which we know perfectly well, seeing how ruthlessly she murdered the mass including her son’s queen). She has promised to marry Euron Greyjoy and was seen mentioning that she would make a dynasty for two – it seems Jamie Lannister does not get the invite, Euron Greyjoy might somehow be eliminated, while she rules with her child as the heir. It would not be impossible for her to devise a way to get rid of the Army of the Dead, for which she’ll have time to prepare since they’re coming all the way from the North.
Bran can travel to the past. He is the namesake of Bran the Builder, who has knowledge on how to defeat the Night King from the previous Long Night. Bran is capable of unravelling a lot of things being the Three-Eyed Raven, for this same reason he might change the things of the past and in return make changes to the present. He on the throne seems quite an odd idea, but he just might represent the North and see to it that House Stark has been served justice.
