As you go about your day, get rid of things that you don’t really use.Seriously, When you actively purge, you will discover just how much you are holding onto that you really do not need. Clutter has a way of making you feel disoriented. Find ways to reduce the clutter in your environment. Throw away those old magazines that you never read. Get rid of the junk mail. Sell old furniture and clothes that you don’t use and can’t wear. You’ll find that you have more space, and you will have a sense of clarity that eluded you when you were surrounded by unnecessary things.
If you truly desire a simple life, you are going to have to scale back. Pick one area of your life where you can reduce your load. Start with something small so that you don’t feel overwhelmed. If you work too much, cut back on the late nights. If you have tons of hobbies that leave you exhausted, try choosing the ones that you enjoy the most and eliminate the others.
Are you present? Most of us are not. Most of us are so busy thinking about what we should do next that we fail to enjoy the moment that we have right now. Stop. Take a deep breath. Where are you now? Enjoy this moment. The present is all that we truly have. Be mindful of the space that you are in.
