Yet, the world does not see people from various religions, castes, races, and so on as their fellow human beings. Just as racial discrimination is rampant even today, so is that on the basis of religion.
The airports banning people of a certain religious community, neighbourhoods not allowing people of certain religious faith to live in that area, mob lynching if found to consume meat that is holy in animal form to one religion but not to another, proclaiming certain people as terrorists just because they practice a certain religion, looking down upon inter-religious marriages even when the law allows it – do I need to go on?
Discrimination and hate of one human over another is not what any God preaches. If the sense of religious sentiments is so strong amongst these vigilantes who wish to protect theirs, they must listen to the word of God and learn to live amongst people together.
When humans discovered the power of science in the Victorian age, they were divided in opinion on what to believe as true. Their preaching taught them that the world was created by God but Darwin with his theories on evolution dismissed that.
They were told that the world was only 6,000 years old but Charles Lyell showed how rocks were seen to be millions of years old, hence making the statement incorrect. They went into a state of faithlessness just because science rocked their belief system.
Today, we are equipped with science and religious studies both but still are unable to differentiate one from the other. There are people creating violence in the name of religion and then there are people who dismiss religion completely. Why should they not? They are born into a certain religion, asked to imbibe its way of living but they haven’t chosen it.
They are not bound to follow it. They are not social outcasts either for it. Stephen Hawking was an atheist and he contributed greatly to science. And, fear of God is not the only necessary way to be true and honest in our living. Our moral conscience can do the same.
On the other hand, there are people who do not want to let others practice their religion and only make theirs the ultimate religion of the world. Humans are lacking their sense of adaptability and brotherhood. Who made you the prophet of the world to decide your religion to be the best? Your God has not come to you in a vision and asked you to do so.
God is all about goodness, greatness, power and morality and in no way would They want humans to be at war in the name of religion. And yet, and yet.
