Champions League final is closer every day and previews and predictions are coming out every second. The two teams involved in the big game are great competitors and have history between each other, but today we are going to talk about Juventus, a team that has shown the things they are capable of doing this campaign and now is time to put the cherry on top against Real Madrid, this weekend in Cardiff.
Juventus' game has been nothing but spectacular this season, both in Italy and Europe. Massimiliano Allegri replaced Antonio Conte in a great way as soon as he landed in Turin; the former Milan boss took La Vecchia Signora to its first Champions League final in over 10 years a couple of seasons ago against Barcelona. Unfortunately for Allegri and his boys, they lose that game and some of their maximum figures such as Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo, and Arturo Vidal.
Allegri knew that it wasn't the end for them and his boys back then and he reinforced their hopes that season, they have been chasing the Champions League trophy; this year the Italian champions can finally reach the longed-for title this June 3rd in Cardiff, against one of their maximum continental rivals, Real Madrid.
The zebras eliminated very dangerous teams throughout the stages of this tournament; clubs like Barcelona –which was unable to score against Juve-, Porto and the surprising Monaco were victims of Juventus and its balanced game; this game that can have either a frenetic pace or a paused one, depending on the time and the needs of the team.
Juventus has boosted their ranks in past seasons, acquiring talented players who know their functions on the pitch and how to play either getting out of the bench or being part of the starting line-up. The Bianconeri has a good atmosphere and harmony that are visible when they play. Everybody wants to win and that’s why they all get onto the field; all that matters is winning.
This season they have had various figures and each one of them has helped the team at some point of the season. You can say Paulo Dybala is the biggest referent of this team alongside Buffon, but they both have a great back up in players like Dani Alves, Gonzalo Higuain, and Leonardo Bonucci. Each area of Juventus’ scheme seems shielded and very difficult to harm.
They know how and when to attack, how to counter attack and how to defend. Juventus has a great attack zone with Mario Mandzukic, Gonzalo Higuain, and Paulo Dybala, but also counts with a great midfield and the best defense in the entire continent. “Gigi” plus the BBC (Barzagli, Bonucci, and Chiellini) have taken the art of defending to another level.
Their tactics, their strategies and the way they put them into practice is something great to see if you value football beyond goals and skills. Massimiliano Allegri has one of the most compact teams in Europe in recent years, and the best way to prove that will be beating Real Madrid this next Saturday. Allegri and his boys are ready to take over Europe, but they will face a team as dangerous as them.
